What is CTfD?

Couples Therapy for Depression (CTfD) is a structured, time-limited talking therapy for couples where one or both partners are experiencing depression. This evidence-based approach helps couples understand how depression affects their relationship and supports them to build stronger emotional connections, improve communication and reduce distress.

Who is it for?

CTfD may be suitable if:

  • One or both partners have symptoms of depression
  • You live together in a committed relationship
  • You are not currently misusing alcohol or drugs
  • Neither partner is receiving mental health treatment elsewhere
  • You are registered with a Surrey GP

What to expect

  • Weekly 50-minute sessions with a trained CTfD therapist
  • Support to understand depression and how it affects both partners
